Serie A, which began in 1929, is the top division of Italy Soccer and is primarily sponsored by Italian mobile phone company TIM. Prior to the inception of Serie A, Italy soccer was structured into regional groups. The championship title is commonly referred to as Scudetto, which means 'small shield' because the champions' uniforms will feature a small coat of arms during the following season. After more than 100 years of play, Italy soccer is at the height of it's popularity in both the eyes of the fans and in the media. As we know it today, Serie A is the most elite of all divisions in the Italian Football League. Other divisions include Serie B, Serie C1, Serie C2, Serie D and Eccellenza.

With an Italy soccer league consisting of 18, 18 or 20 teams, Serie A requires that each club play all other teams on two occasions, once at their home stadium and once at the home of their opponents. The first half of a traditional Italy soccer season consists of each team competing once against all of the other clubs. The second half of the season will consist of the same competitions in the same order, with the only difference being the location of the games.

When it comes to scoring, an Italy soccer team receives three points for a win, one point for a tie and no points for a loss. When it comes to tallying the points to see which club will be crowned as champion, teams are ranked according to their total points accumulated during the season. If two teams are found to have equal points at the conclusion of a season, those two teams will meet up in a one match playoff. The top four teams in the Serie A of Italy soccer will qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Like the area itself, Italy soccer is rich in history and in tradition. With so many years of successful play, the competitors have set a number of records. As of September 2006, three players hold the record for most appearances. These include Paolo Maldini, Gianluca Pagliuca and Dino Zoff. The current records held for the oldest player appearance include Marco Ballotta and Dino Zoff. During the 2005-06 season, A.S. Roma set the record for most consecutive wins with a total of 11 straight victories. Current standings, news, updates, photos, historical profiles and league news is available online and is offered primarily in the Italian language. It also allows talent scouts to view the next generation of players and pre-pick their future stars.

The most popular of these tours takes players to Brazil. Brazil is considered the leader in training professional soccer players due to their five consecutive World Cup wins. While the idea of sending their child to Brazil may strike fear in the hearts of many parents, they need not worry as their child is supervised 24 hours per day by their hosts, professional coaches, youth coaches, youth counselors and chaperones.

These camps and tours last from 7 days to 3 months. The longest give a solid introduction to the world of international soccer and enough time for improvement of skills. Other countries that provide excellent tours and camps are the United States, Germany, England, and Argentina.

These international camps are very different from their domestic counterparts. When one thinks of a ?soccer camp? often what comes to mind is the ideal version of a summer camp based around soccer. The international camps are run with the idea of creating professionals, this gives them a strictly boot camp atmosphere. While this design seems overdone to many a soccer Mom, it is a tested and proven method of turning out the best soccer players in world.

Some of the more elite soccer camps and tours may be prohibitive in their cost, but one can rest assured that not only are the players given the best instruction possible, most camps are all inclusive. These soccer filled weeks or months are often dreamed about and heartily welcomed days every young soccer player who wants to join the star studded international league imagines. There is also the chance that the player in your life can be picked up by one or more of the talent scouts and offered not only a position on a team, but also training with the very people who coach the World Cup teams.

Soccer aside, these camps offer a once in a lifetime opportunity for teenagers to experience the thrill of international travel while under the close eye of watchful adults who are there to help them grow as individuals and as athletes. http://SoccerGearDeals.com has a great selection of clothing for everyone.

Dana Bradley writes about NBA Coupons,NHL Coupons and Memorabilia Coupon
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-68481722721421488672012-03-04T11:01:00.000-08:002012-03-04T11:13:23.820-08:00Soccer And Basketball: The War Between The Two Of The Most Popular Sports
Soccer and Basketball are currently considered to be the two of the most popular sports among the world?s population. Although Basketball was created in the United States, and Soccer in Europe, the two have become increasingly popular in both countries.

Both sports require the athletes to be in shape and fit, but endurance might be more important among soccer players, while exquisite skill is the more important factor in basketball. Many of the major differences between soccer and basketball are being subdued, due to the fact that basketball is becoming more and more popular in Europe, and soccer in the United States.

In the United States, most of the sports television broadcasts on network TV are of sports other than soccer. You generally need to have cable to catch a glimpse of a professional soccer game, and even then only a portion of the games are broadcast, compared to a majority of games of other sports. In Europe, soccer is a favorite pastime, and most of the games are broadcast over other sporting events such as basketball.

However, the United States is becoming more involved in the soccer world since they introduced the World Cup, and maybe the gap between football and futbol is finally diminishing. It is still more likely than not that more American?s, if asked to name 10 professional basketball players, then 10 professional soccer players, would have a much easier time naming the basketball players.

The fact still remains that American?s simply do not consider soccer to one of the traditional, all-American sports that it does football, basketball, and baseball. Regardless of the fact that soccer has been around and played for many, many years, much like the sports that are considered to be favorite pastimes in the United States, it just hasn?t been played religiously in the United States for individuals to simply give up our sports that consist mainly of players throwing balls, to players kicking balls instead.

It?s projected that within a few more years, the exposure of soccer in the United States, as well basketball in Europe and other countries, will begin to gain to popularity and respect as a sport well played by athletes who train just as hard as any other professional athlete. The media can help to play a huge role in broadening the horizons of soccer by simply making broadcasts of games more readily available and easier to access, as well as on other channels rather than only cable.

Lanny Hintz writes about NBA Coupons,Footlocker coupons and Fans Edge Coupons
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-72232255712926422942011-10-09T09:22:00.000-07:002011-10-09T09:25:32.615-07:00A Look At UK Soccer
The FA Premier League Partnership, also known as UK soccer, was first founded in 1992 and is a league that is reserved for the top UK soccer clubs in the English system. This distinction makes it England?s primary soccer competition. Each year, 20 teams compete for the league championship but, oddly enough, only four teams have been crowned. Why? Because these four teams have dominated UK soccer since it?s inception. These include Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers, Chelsea and Manchester United. Of these four UK soccer clubs, Manchester United has been the most successful after having won the championship title on eight occasions. The current league champions are Chelsea, who clinched their second consecutive title during the 2005-06 season.

The sport of UK soccer hasn?t always been as popular as it is today. In fact, the 1980s marked a particularly low point for the sport. Stadiums were crumbling, which left spectators facing poor facilities. As attendance dropped and conditions worsened, UK soccer was banned from European competition. By the time the 1990s rolled around, things were beginning to change and the ban formerly preventing English teams from competing was lifted.

At the conclusion of the 1991 season, a proposal for a new league was presented and was one that would bring additional revenue into the sport. The Founder Members Agreement, which was signed in July 1991, established the basic foundation for the FA Premier League. The new division was given a license to negotiate broadcast and sponsorship agreements, which was a necessary part of successful competition. In 1992, the FA Premier League was formed as a limited company and operated out of an office at the former headquarters of the Football Association.

The 1992-93 season marked the first of many competitions for the new face of UK soccer. Due to the rules governed by the FIFA, the number of teams was reduced to twenty in 1995. Today, the FA Premier League is a corporation that is owned by the 20 member clubs of UK soccer. Each team is considered to be a shareholder and has the opportunity to vote on important issues, including rule changes and contracts. Each team has the power to elect a Chairman, Chief Executive and Board of Directors to oversee their day-to-day activities. The Football Association is not directly involved with these operations, but it does have veto power during team elections.

Today, a typical UK soccer season consists of 20 teams competing against one another on two separate occasions. One half of the season is dedicated to home games and the second half, which repeats the same schedule as the first, entails each team playing their competitors for a second time at a different location. For instance, the first half of a season may be comprised of home games and the second half would be played on the competitors home turf. At the conclusion of each season, the champions are named according to points awarded throughout the season. If a tie occurs, a one match playoff is held to determine which top four teams will qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

For additional information on the FA Premier League and/or UK soccer, fans may visit their official website at http://www.premierleague.com. The key is to make the step-over look like a shot, pass, or lunge.

Another example...

2. "Double Scissors"

Check the video clip here:
http://www.soccerdrillstips.com/downloads/freemove2.mpg

Step 1: Begin by dribbling the ball between your feet.

Step 2 : Place your right foot to the right of the ball and swing your left leg in a counter clockwise direction from the inside of the ball to the outside of the ball.

Step 3 : Repeat in the other direction with the other foot.

Step 4 : This is an inside-to-outside step-over with the left foot. From here you will move the ball back to the right with the outside of the right foot and accelerate in this direction.

You can perform and teach these soccer moves to the front of the ball, front side scissors, or from the back with the step-over mostly behind the ball, back side scissors.

Key Point: The key is to make your opponent believe the step-over is truly a move to the left.

Now go out there and try it and come up with your own variations. In this drill, they need to see every marker as a ball.

Yours in soccer,

Andre Botelho

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Andre Botelho is a recognized authority on the subject of footwork soccer and coaching. You can swivel slightly on your support foot to get a better kick.

If you want to curve the ball to the right, then you need to bring the outside of your foot in contact with the left side of the ball.

Step 2 - How To Pass a Soccer Ball
On learning how to play soccer, passing is crucial to keeping possession of the ball during a game. While any kick that ends with the ball in the possession of a team-mate is passing, there are proper techniques to use to pass effectively and accurately.

Short passes are most effectively executed by using the inside of the foot because of the large surface available for accurately aiming the ball.

If you are passing long, then the instep is the most effective kick to use. If you need to pass behind, your heel is the used.

Don't ever forget that passing involves communication between the passer and the receiver.

Yours in soccer,

Andre Botelho
http://www.soccerdrillstips.com

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Andre Botelho is a recognized authority on the subject of footwork soccer and coaching. I am sick of explaining things that you can only understand based on personal experience. But although I managed to provide her with a luminous answer, she came back stating yet another question. "Is it different to play soccer on the grass than to play it on the beach?" That was a good one. "Of course it is different," I replied. Beach soccer, as you can tell by its name, is a sport played on the beaches; preferably during spring or summer time. Although it has been played informally for decades, it was given its official name and rules only recently and specifically in 1992. Since then it managed to become a rather popular sport and I believe that if you really want to learn something about soccer you should better start playing it on the beach.

Playing soccer on the beach is considered by many fans as the paradise of the apprentice. The soft-sand playing surface can correct some usual mistakes for a beginner, as the ball often stacks on it. Actually, the element of sand does only facilitate the efforts of new players, but it is considered a heavy obstacle even for those experienced ones that wish to show off their abilities. Plus the compact pitch -measuring 28 x 37 meters if there is an official beach soccer facility- is by far smaller than the grass field and makes scoring easier, even for players who decide to try it for the first time.

A great advantage of beach soccer is the fact that one needs no special equipment to play it. An adequate size ball and the sand of the beach are more than enough for one to begin exploring this game's unique character. Even when no organized facility on the beach exists, those interested to play beach soccer need only two canes to symbolize the area of a goalpost. Canes or just a pile of clothes are preferable in comparison to heavy stones or even huge blocks of rocks, which can be very dangerous for feet injuries, as shoes are not allowed in this game. Thus, if you are on a sandy beach, it is a sunny day, and you have nine friends willing to join you, you can start playing beach soccer. When you do experience it, let me know if you liked it. Most importantly, let your girlfriend know!

When I finished my lecture about beach soccer my friend seemed excited. "I will play it every single weekend," she said. But before you ask yourselves how much time should you invest in practicing this sport, before you can consider yourselves good soccer players, try playing it for awhile. Since you cannot play beach soccer all year around, unless you move to California or Florida every time you have a beach soccer need, you have to exercise your soccer playing abilities on the actual lawn ground. Believe me when I tell you that it is not that easy there too!

Kadence Buchanan writes articles on many topics including Outdoors, Recreation, and Fitness
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-88847733828708901182011-05-30T07:55:00.000-07:002011-05-30T07:57:35.368-07:00Soccer Fitness Training - How To Do It
Often called "The Beautiful Game", football, or soccer if you're from the United States, is unquestionably the most popular sport in the world.

It started with George Best in the 1960's, and now Soccer is the new rock and roll of our time with multi-million pound paydays, glamorous celebrity lifestyles and worldwide acclaim on offer for its top exponents. Sponsors and TV Companies also profit massively from the world-wide demand for the game and its domination of our TV Screens and popular culture shows no signs of flagging.

Not surprisingly therefore, how to actually train a soccer player to produce the goods on the pitch is big business for the coaches who know how. As an avid football fan for over 25 years I'm going to explain the best conditioning exercises currently known for the different player positions. I am not going to discuss ball control here because that is a separate topic:

The Goalkeeper

The Goalie has to go from a still position suddenly into a quick explosive movement. Powerlifting, reaction training and plyometrics should therefore be the mainstay of the training regime. A controlled low fat diet should also improve agility making it easier for the keeper to span the width of the goal at breakneck speed when required.

The Defender

Similar to the Keeper, the defender needs explosive bursts of energy and good reactions and agility. They also ideally need to be physically bigger to intimidate and impose themselves on the attacking strikers but still be able to run fast enough to keep up with them. Fullbacks need full body strength training but a high protein / low carbohydrate diet to avoid putting on too much weight which could slow them down. Reaction training is also a must here.

The Mid-Fielder

Mid-fielders need to do interval training interspersing sprints with longer runs to improve both their basic fitness and explosive power as they will need both to get them through 90 minutes of what will be a lot of running around (more so than with any other player position). Power lifting to achieve full body strength (but again not at the expense of speed) should also feature prominently to give extra authority to the tackles that will need to be made.

The Striker

Forwards need to train for speed and agility pure and simple. This means factoring in explosive twists and turns into their workouts. They also need good general fitness so they can run at a slower speed for longer periods of time to keep up with the pace of the game and stay in contention to capitalise on any opportunities that are created.

Conclusion

These tips are just general guidelines and obviously will need to be tweaked to fit the individual requirements of different athletes but hopefully the underlying principles should be clear. The more progress a player makes the more individualised his or her training can become.

It is important that any unique physical characteristics of a footballer (e.g. an unusually tall player) be taken into account when initially forming a training program and it is also important to constantly re-evaluate the training methods to find the right 'fit' for that particular individual.

To use an analogy from Boxing: behind every great fighter there is a great trainer. The best boxers in history often had very unconventional techniques but had trainers who recognised their particular talents and structured the training to allow for this. Muhammed Ali did everything wrong from a boxing textbook point of view but his trainer, Angelo Dundee, recognised his genius and allowed him to express himself in training, taking a much more 'hands off' approach than other boxing trainers of the day.

So perhaps the rule should be that there are no definitive 'hard and fast' rules but that if you combine the above basic principles with a flexible approach then the foundation for success can be achieved.

Gary Evans has been an avid football supporter for over 25 years. Well in this article, you can determine if you are correct or not. Not just anyone can become a youth soccer coach, it takes someone with knowledge of the game, someone who is fair, someone who is honest, someone who works hard, and someone who associates well with kids. If this sounds like you, you may be just the person for the job. Dedication is also necessary to becoming a youth soccer coach and it takes a lot of dedication on your part to ensure your players are ready for the great game of soccer.

While there are many different aspects of soccer such as positions, skills, scrimmages, drills, and practices, one of the first areas, which you must learn as a new coach, are the basic rules of soccer. First, learn the layout of the field. The halfway line and the center circle divides each side and this is where kick-off takes place, at the top of each quarter or half and after a goal has been scored. Each side consists of a goal, goal box, goal line, penalty box, two corner arcs, sidelines, and a penalty box arc.

As a youth soccer coach, you must learn and teach your young players the rules as they apply to them and the game of soccer. We already covered what a kick-off is, however, you should let your players know that once the center kicks the ball, he or she may not touch the ball again until another player has. Next up is the throw-in, this occurs when the ball has passed over the sideline. The non-offending team has the chance to throw the ball in to his or hers team members. The feet must always be in place, never moving, and the ball must be thrown with both hands, over the head.

A corner or goal kick occurs when the ball has crossed the endline. The goal kick is warranted when the opposing team has kicked the ball across the endline without a score. If the team with the ball, kicks it over their own endline, the opposing teams gets what is called a corner kick. This takes place in the corner of a field and depending on the age of the players, the team must stay back so many feet from the point of the kick.

A penalty kick occurs when an opposing player performs a foul within their penalty box. An example of this foul may be using hands or tripping a player. The opposing team gets the opportunity to kick from the penalty line, with only the goalkeeper in the area.

A free kick takes place when the opposing team has fouled a member outside of their penalty box. The free kick will take place from the point in which the foul occurred.

These are just a few of the many rules when it comes to youth soccer, it is important that as a coach you review and learn all rules in order to prepare your team for a game. Becoming a youth soccer coach is a coveted position that will provide you with many rewarding opportunities as you shape the lives of your team.

You can enjoy more of Martin Myers articles at Home and Family and also My Precious Family.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-73546477984158421112010-12-28T05:05:00.000-08:002010-12-28T05:06:16.511-08:00Freestyle Soccer Tricks Astound and Amaze
The soccer ball is no longer just used for the sport of the same name. Now, thousands of people across the globe are currently showing off some incredibly skilled moves in a sport known as freestyle sport. While not a sport in the general sense (there are no teams and often no winner), freestyle soccer instead showcases complex and innovative tricks that are eye candy for anyone watching. Whether their bouncing a soccer ball off the back of their necks or jumping rope while sending a soccer ball flying into the air with only their head, practitioners of this growing sport trend are continuing to break new grounds and astound fans and spectators with some really amazing tricks.

There are many different types of freestylers who are perfecting soccer tricks year round. Most of these types tend to focus on one area of the body, or perhaps a certain shtick that makes a trick unique and memorable. For example, one freestyler may focus on soccer tricks that pertain to the lower body, while another may focus on upper body tricks. To get even more specific, there are those that make only practice and invent tricks that involve the head, or the foot, or even the neck. If the body part isn't enough for one person to focus on, they make try jumping rope while bouncing a ball or riding a bike, perhaps. Freestyle soccer tricks are really only bound by a person's imagination.

There are two main types of freestyle soccer tricks: the air tricks and the stall tricks. The basic principles are used in both, to make sure the ball doesn't hit the ground while at the same time keeping it moving continuously. It's a difficult task, but once achieved, it can be one of the coolest things to watch. The difference between these two types of tricks is in how these basic principles are achieved. In air tricks, the soccer ball is bounced off the body and oftentimes it gets some great air. The thing is, the ball is mostly in the air, which is not the case in stall tricks. Stall tricks involve keeping the soccer ball moving, but on the body rather than on the air. For example, one freestyler may hit the soccer ball in the air, catch it on the back of his neck, and move his neck in such a way where the soccer ball will sit there, rolling, and never falling to the ground until the trick is over.

As you can see, there is a lot of skill needed to perform freestyle soccer tricks. It takes a lot of practice and familiarity with the ball itself. One needs to feel comfortable with the soccer ball in order to get it to do what one wants. Without getting anymore Zen-like, I'll just mention that freestyle soccer tricks can be some of the most creative ways to use a sports ball, and one can only wonder how the sport will continue to grow and evolve in the future.

For more information about soccer tricks, you can visit Stanley's website at http://devzone.info/soccer.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-90169857660554730492010-12-28T05:04:00.000-08:002010-12-28T05:05:09.864-08:00The Coaching Ball Revolutionize the Way Kids Learn to Kick a Soccer Ball
Now there is a soccer ball that will guarantee that you will strike a soccer ball low and on target and that will show you where to kick a soccer ball to swerve it or loft it. Participation in any sport however can potentially lead to injury. Injury to the ACL, or anterior cruciate ligament, is a common injury to those participating in soccer. Rehabilitation and treatment following an ACL injury is costly and will most likely result in significant loss in playing time for the athlete. Injury or rupture of the ACL can occur during contact or non-contact situations such as running and jumping. During running, injury most often occurs with quick directional changes, rapid decelerations and torsional or rotational movements. The landing phase of jumping with varus (outward) and valgus (inward) stresses at the knee accompanied by rotation also stress the ACL and can possibly result in injury. In an effort to decrease the incidence of ACL injuries, a preventative training program should include neuromuscular training. Traditional lower extremity strengthening programs have utilized machines to exercise the quads and hamstrings. These programs do little to improve dynamic strength and stability which are very important in knee joint control on the soccer field. Neuromuscular training involves challenging the proprioceptive system via various balance and stability activities. Through neuromuscular training, dynamic joint stability can be improved and hopefully decrease injury.

Neuromuscular control or stability relies upon the proprioceptive system. This system consists of proprioceptors or sensory receptors within the ACL and the other soft tissue structures within and around the knee joint. These receptors are located throughout or body and provide our brain with information of position sense and joint stresses so that our muscles may respond appropriately and protect our bodies from injury. A neuromuscular training program typically consists of balance exercises on the involved limb, dynamic joint stability exercises, plyometric exercises, agility drills and sports specific exercises. Balance training may include double or single leg stance on flat surfaces, a wobble board or even a trampoline. Dynamic joint stability training involves controlled balance movements such as lunges, balanced reaching activities with the upper or lower extremities, step-up and step-down exercises, squatting with or without weights on different surfaces and single leg squats. Plyometric or jump training involves quick and powerful movement involving pre-stretching of the muscle to produce a stronger muscular contraction. An example of a plyometric activity would involve jumping off of a box and then exploding up and over another obstacle. These exercises help to facilitate quick directional changes and control in landing and jumping activities. Jumping exercises using plyometric training might include two and one legged jumping on a trampoline, 180? turning jumps and vertical jumps.

Sports specific skills training activities include running, lateral running, backward running, shuttle runs and agility drills. Agility activities may include figure 8 running, quick directional changes which are not preplanned but rather directed by a coach or trainer, passing, kicking and throwing activities.

The training program should include enough exercise to induce muscular fatigue for the athlete and train the appropriate muscular responses. Proprioceptive deterioration can increase with muscle fatigue; therefore the training program needs to include enough repetitions to create some fatigue in the athlete. The training should also be performed throughout the ROM of the joint to stimulate and train different receptors at different angles of joint motion.

Beth Bartels is a Physical Therapist at Excel Physical Therapy in Nebraska. The most obvious rules to soccer are that the game is played between two teams, consisting of nine players and a goalie. The players on each team are divided into offense and defense, and are only allowed to play the soccer ball with their feet. The main objective in soccer is to kick the ball into the opposing teams? goal, scoring a point, or a goal. Only the goalie is allowed to use either his or her hands as well as feet.

Soccer players will often practice ?juggling?, which is a skill that consists of keeping the ball in the air through the use of the feet, knees, thighs, head, or chest, all legal places on the body to control the ball. The use of the hands or the arm will result in the opposing team taking possession of the ball.

When a player on one of the teams kicks or knocks the ball out of bounds on the two long sides of the soccer field, the opposing team them takes possession of ball by doing a ?throw-in?, in which both of the feet must remain on the ground while the player throws the soccer ball back into play. If the soccer ball is kicked out of bounds over the line of their own goal, it then results in a ?corner kick? where the opposite team takes the ball to the corresponding corner and kicks the ball back into play to one of their teammates. However, if the team kicks the ball out of bounds over the goal line of the opposing teams? goal, the play will then turn to a ?goal kick? taken by one of the defensive players of that team.

?Fouls? are called under a number of circumstances. A few of them are when a player touches the ball with his hand or arm, if a player slide tackles another player, excessive pushing, tripping or force, unsportsmanlike conduct, or off-sides (when the offense of one team is closer to the goal they are trying to score on than that teams? defense; unless the ball was there first). In these circumstances, the referee will generally call the ball dead in the spot where the foul occurred, and give the opposite team a ?free kick?.

In the case that the regulation time of the soccer runs out while the score is still tied, it will often result in a ?shootout? where the goalie of one team is up against a single player from the opposing team. The first one to score a goal wins the game.

Dana Bradley writes about Adidas Coupons,Florsheim Coupons and Shoes on sale.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-32296534768896452822010-11-17T03:32:00.000-08:002010-11-17T03:34:03.529-08:00Alternative Soccer Viewing
Most people associate watching football in the 21st century with going to a soccer stadium, listening to the commentary on the radio or watching the match live on TV, but people rarely mention other alternative viewing. Is this because it is seen as uncool and not classed as following a soccer match properly?

Since the introduction of Ceefax in the 1970s and other technological improvements in the 1990s (like sky/cable television and the internet), there have been other alternative ways to keep track on how a team is getting on which has a kind of ?cult? feeling to it.

The oldest alternative viewing to the traditional avenues is Ceefax (phonetic for ?See Facts?), which was introduced by the BBC in 1974 (who at he time were working on ways of providing television subtitles for the deaf). Their system was the first teletext system in the world. It was a basic information system with the absence of sound, pictures, or anybody giving your basic information.

It was basically simple pages of blue-and-white text that you could access via your television remote. But what does this have to do with football? Well the Ceefax service holds information on a wide range of topics, such as News, Sport, Weather, TV Listings and Business and these pages are kept up to date (usually being the first to report a breaking story or headline).

Most people in the British Isles that you speak to have in the past used Ceefax on a match day (especially before the development of the internet). Everybody looks at football scores on Ceefax as it is the original internet. People will leave Ceefax on in their living rooms on a Saturday afternoon to keep track of how their team is doing and will wait anxiously for the blue-and-white text on the screen to refresh hoping that their team holds on in the dying minutes or scores that dramatic last minute equaliser. Some people are anxious whilst starring at the blue-and-white text and I have know people to spend a large part of the match sat in front of their TV waiting for the black rectangles to change in favour of their team.

Some people would argue that it is sad to sit in front of your TV waiting for the screen to refresh, but it is surprisingly engrossing. If all you are interested in is the score, then it is the ideal medium. Think about it this way, you have no annoying adverts, no annoying analysis from inapt soccer commentators and just the scores which you are interested in. With the plans to replace all analogue TV signals with digital in the British Isles for 2008, sadly this alternative viewing is going to disappear.

A similar version to Ceefax has developed on the internet over the past decade due to technological improvements. There are many versions of the TV Ceefax system on the internet in one form or another and usually comes under the form of ?Live Scores?. If you do a simple search on the internet for soccer Live Scores you will be amazed at how many sites are returned in the results. In essence it is just a modern day version of Ceefax.

Instead of sitting in front of your TV watching Ceefax refresh you are sat in front of your computer watching an internet site refresh. There is no real difference in the service which is provided, just the fact that it is coming from a different medium. Like with the Ceefax service, if you ask most soccer fans in the British Isles who use the internet, they will be able to name a site they use to keep track of their team on match day. If you were to pick out differences between the two it would be the fact that websites take advantage over the number of people accessing the site by placing advertisements alongside the scores.

During the 1990s, Sky Sports was launched in the British Isles and their introduction was to have a massive impact on soccer. Sky revolutionised soccer with their live matches, showing live games on Friday?s, Sunday?s and Monday?s. Sky also introduced a live manned version of Ceefax called Sky Sports Saturday. Their service is just an advanced version of Ceefax on a match day, with an anchorman and various ex professional soccer players talking about the action as it happens.

All that Sky have done is taken hold of Ceefax and expanded on it. They use ex professional soccer players to provide key moments from one of the matches they are watching and they then report back to the anchorman, telling him that player X has just won a free-kick but it?s still 0-0 at Old Trafford. Admittedly it is more interesting then sat watching blue-and-white text refresh as it tells you more, but at the end of the day it is still a basic score service. I would say their service (which is similar to the one that the BBC run) is an overly-manned version of Ceefax with a human face.

The last alternative version to watching soccer is live commentaries which various websites provide. Again this is just another basic version of Live Scores and Ceefax. You will visit a website and have the option to watch live commentary on a match of your choice. It will give you details of the match action as it happens like ?attacking throw-in Chelsea Cole right channel?, but like the other services the score will remain the same.

Soccer fans will class watching Ceefax, Live Scores and Live Commentary as not properly following a soccer match, but to some people this alternative viewing adds more entertainment to the match day. Instead of watching a dire 0-0 match being played out on TV, it is sometimes more entertaining listening to the moans and groans of an ex professional on Sky Sports Saturday as he describes players missing chance after chance. Also alternative viewing gives fans of lower leagues clubs a chance to see how their team is getting on as they are not given the same TV/radio coverage as the more illustrious clubs. Alternative viewing might be seen as uncool by certain fans, but to many it is still cult viewing.

Steven Gore is the editor of SoccerManager.com, the free online soccer game
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-15216430847269414332010-10-14T02:17:00.000-07:002010-10-14T02:18:08.960-07:00Soccer Technique: How To Kick The Ball
Kicking

There are many different ways of kicking the ball. In order to kick the ball to the direction that we want, it requires high level of skills. Kicking methods can be divided as follows;

Kick the ball by using foot instep

When using foot instep to kick, make sure that the foot you use be fully bent downward and the foot instep should fully touch the ball. Once the foot touch the ball, the ball have to skim to the ground. Importantly when you kick the ball, if position if the knee is too much lean forward to the ball?s position, the direction of the ball will heading down, and then touch the ground before it reach target, which effect to the ball speed. On the other hand, if the knee is too much lean backward to the ball?s position when kicking, the ball will rise up and not go to the desired direction. Therefore, you have to make sure that the knee is in the right direction, not too forward and backward. The foot that not use for kick, put it beside the ball and make sure it is away form the ball around 4-12 inches. Focus on the ball all the time you are kicking.

Run and kick

Run and kick is often use during the game and this method of kicking is quite difficult to do as you seem to have no time to do the kick exactly as instructions. However, The right position when you have to kick while you are running, make sure that you are close to the ball as much as possible. Put the standing foot beside the ball and bend down your knee a little bit, your shoulders and head slightly lean forward. Swing the leg that use for kick fully stretch. Your head should bend down until you kick the ball completely, and always focus on the target that you want to kick to ball to.

Kick the ball by using inside of the foot

This figure is the simplest method to kick the ball, often used when we need to pass the ball to others, because by using this method, you can control the direction of the ball completely and it has the most accuracy. To do this figure, bend down both of your knees a bit when kicking and push the kicking leg follow through after touch the ball.

Kick the ball by using heel

This method of kicking mostly used for trick the person who try to snatch the ball from you and this method is very simple. Firstly, you have to step or jump over the ball, pretending you want to carry the ball forward, then immediately use the heel to punch the ball, pass it to the back direction. This figure require a bit of skills and accuracy when you use heel to kick the ball, because at a time of kicking the ball will be at your back and will not be able to see it. So you need to estimate about the ball?s position in order to kick it correctly.

Search, Directory Soccer , Soccer Tips & Techniques
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-39280294637968132202010-10-14T02:14:00.000-07:002010-10-14T02:17:25.674-07:002010 Soccer World Cup South Africa
South Africa has been given the opportunity to host the world's greatest event in 2010. Since, South Africa is a country in Africa, many people are skeptic about the prospects of a SA Soccer World Cup. However, South Africa is in MANY respects a developed country with a modern infrastructure and economy. Many areas in SA will match the average American neighborhood. The average South African is far better off than the average African, but the wealth inequality is huge - especially between rich and poor - black and white - although, after apartheid, more than two million black people entered the middle class. It's good to see that so many black people (although it's only a small portion of the black population) take now part in the economy. It's important for the stability of the country. The black middle class is one of the reasons why SA has it's longest run of economic growth in its history.

People's main concern is the safety and security situation in South Africa. There are many ways of making money, be it online or even offline.

In this article, I am going to educate you how you can make huge money from soccer punting, something like investing in stocks and shares. This investment involves a lot of risk. But the risk can be minimized if you know what you are doing. What game to bet on and when to bet. In fact, everything we do involves risk. It's only a matter of minimizing the risk.

I have been involved in soccer punting for more than 12 years and I can say that I am now making a steady stream of income from the bookmakers. It all comes with experience. My earlier days of soccer punting are a nightmare because I don't know how to analyze and look at the game. I have lost lots of money and nearly went bankrupt. But I never give up and try my very best to find a way to beat the system. I tried and studied many ways and try to find signals in the odds which are being offered by the bookmakers. I jot down every single movement of the odds and studied. After few years of loosing money in soccer punting, I finally make my break through. I have found the secrets of the odds being offered by the bookmakers.

Bookmakers know what's the outcome of the game will be and if we can also roughly know what the outcome of the game will be, it will be big fat bonus for us. It's like discovering a gold mind!!

I will share one secret that I have found after years of studying the odds. I wrote a guide on "Make Your Bookie Your ATM Machine". It is my pleasure after all these years of hard work, it finally pays of by discovering the few secret signals that bookmakers don't want you to know. If you are thinking of making serious money from the bookmaker, I would recommend you to read this guide. You can get it from http://www.soccerbettingpro.com and I don't know how long it will be there until I get ban from the bookmakers for revealing this secret.

As I promised earlier, I will share one secret. This is a powerful signal to look out for. It is called the Fixed Match Signal. Believe it or not, most soccer games are fixed. Most of the big clubs around the world are being sponsored by the bookmakers. So what makes you think that the bookmakers don't already know the outcome of the result? Here's the secret - If a strong team playing at home ground against a much weaker team and the strong team did not even give a handicap, this game is as good as a fixed match for the strong team not to win. This is to lure punters to take on the strong team which is playing at home ground. But don't be fooled by this kind of odds. Have faith to bet against the strong team if this kind of odds occurs.

Do check out my guide "Make Your Bookie Your ATM Machine". You will not want to miss out on all the signals that I have discovered. http://www.soccerbettingpro.com

Author is a soccer analyst, marketer and a writer in internet marketing and soccer punting.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-90170522289658209152010-09-04T07:26:00.000-07:002010-09-04T07:27:31.271-07:00Improving Soccer Skills With Soccer Training Gear
The main objective when playing the game of soccer is to score a goal in the opposing teams? net and bypassing the goalie. This skill requires a great deal of practice, and a certain portion of muscle training and memory that needs to be acquired over time. With the proper soccer training gear, this goal can be accomplished, while improving other aspects of a player?s soccer skills as well.

New technology in the field of sports training is constantly improving and expanding, but growing as a player ultimately comes down to the fundamentals and repetition. One soccer training device eliminates much of the time spent on retrieving out-of-play balls, allowing practice to become easier as a solo activity, rather than having a constant need to either chase balls yourself, or have a partner do it for you. This simple training device allows more time to be spent on practicing the basics of kicking, and goal placement.

Strength and endurance is another key aspect for all players to possess in order to be optimal soccer players, since a great majority of the 45 minute halves is spent running up and down the soccer field. The ability to outrun an opponent is crucial, and another soccer training device can aide players in doing just that. A rubber band-like cord that ties around the athletes waste, and is secured into the ground, offers resistance training and explosiveness when it comes to racing an opponent on the soccer field.

For some of the skills necessary to become an improved soccer player, training gear may not even be necessary. Going back to the skills learned as a child when first taught how to play the game of soccer, may be some of the best training equipment one can have. Practicing juggling and controlling the ball, quick feet to ball movements, and even just dribbling the ball while running can be some of the best training gear an athlete can have. The saying goes ?Practice makes perfect?, but essentially, it?s more along the lines that ?Practice make permanent?. Repetition and control over the soccer ball without even having to think about it is what will make anyone a better soccer player.

Dana Bradley writes about Pros sport Memorabilia coupons and Fans Edge Coupon Codes.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-19032419838789958152010-08-06T01:56:00.000-07:002010-08-06T01:57:21.564-07:00What is Soccer Betting?
This information is to provide you with general information about online gambling on soccer and various types of wagers.

Online Gambling on soccer is the general activity of predicting soccer results by making a bet on the outcome of a soccer match. Perhaps more than other forms of online gambling, the legality and general acceptance of betting on soccer vary from nation to nation. In North Americaand Asia, for example, online gambling on sports is generally forbidden, while in many European nations, bookmaking is regarded as an honorable occupation and, while highly regulated, is not criminalized.

Proponents of legalized sports betting generally regard it as a hobby for sports fans that increases their interest in particular sporting events, thus benefiting the leagues, teams and players they bet on through higher attendances and television audiences. Opponents fear that, over and above the general ramifications of online gambling, it threatens the integrity of amateur and professional sport, the history of which includes numerous attempts by soccer gamblers to fix matches, although defenders counter that legitimate bookmakers will invariably fight corruption just as fiercely as governing bodies and law enforcement do.

Aside from simple bets, online gambling is commonly done through a bookmaker. Legal sports bookmakers exist throughout the world. In areas where online gambling on sports is illegal, bettors usually make their sports wagers with illicit bookmakers, where thousands of online bookmakers accept bets on sporting events around the world. The bookmaker earns a commission of normally ten percent on all losing bets, and pays out a predetermined amount to winning bets. Many bookmakers offer several alternative bets, including the following:

* Proposition bets: These are wagers made on a very specific outcome of a match.

* Parlays: A parlay involves multiple bets and rewards successful bettors with a large payout.

* Future wagers: This bet predicts a future accomplishment by a team or player. Odds for such a bet in online gambling are generally expressed in a ratio of units paid to unit wagered.

Soccer Betting is not an effortless way to make money, it needs you to persevere and also to practice to become better. One of the ways of doing is to get acquainted with the different aspects of each and every game you might facing at the online gambling site of your choice.

Visit www.soccerbettingpro.com for guides and secrets on how to win on soccer bets easily and consistently.

Author is a full time soccer analyst and internet marketer and loves to write www.soccerbettingpro.com www.firsteasymoney.com
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4169598384107700341.post-60403376878754823812010-04-28T05:05:00.000-07:002010-04-28T05:06:44.130-07:00Soccer Betting Secrets Rule No.2 - Bet on what you know
It is hard enough working out who will win a football match without complicating things still further by betting on an a game when you know nothing about the teams or the league. Don't be tempted to place large amounts of money or even a little amount on an obscure match in the Chilean or Brazilian League just because you read one article on it. Most articles don't reveal all information about the game. So you need to do your homework finding and gathering as much information from reliable sources

If you consider the people involved ( the players, the referees, the managers) that means more than 30 variables (with substitutes). That doesn't even include variables like the state of the pitch, international call-ups, long-term injuries, financial implications, transfers, legal and disciplinary procedures and many more.

South American games seem exciting - until the bet loses. And when you find out (after the match) that a star forward was on international duty or great defender was out injured then you'll feel stupid. The bookmakers knew about this - that's why they set that tempting price.

I make my huge profit on the English Premier League and Spanish La Liga because I get to see extended coverage of EVERY game. You should put away your feeling about your favorite team when betting on soccer. As an avid punter, what important most is about winning money. You must not take sides on your favorite team simply because you will end up putting bets on their side just because they are your favorite team. This will not work in the long run when it comes to making money from soccer betting. This is one secret that is all the while out there that new punters just overlooked.

You can read more about my book "Make your bookie your ATM machine" at http://www.soccerbettingpro.com is you are really serious about making huge money from soccer betting.

Author is a full time soccer analyst and has been around soccer betting arena for more than 12 years. Every gambler who has hit a winning streak or a losing streak has fallen into the trap and gambled away money they couldn't afford to lose. DON'T DO IT!! As simple as it may sound ? You just can?t do it. Stick to this first golden rule and drill it deep down inside your brain that this rule cannot be broken. Why I say this is because there?s consequences if you break this rule.

It is very easy to fall into the trap that because you are winning, then bigger stakes won't hurt (after all - it's the bookies money right?) or if you are losing then you think that you put a little bit more on this 'certainty' you can get your money back. DON'T DO IT!! As simple as it may sound ? You just can?t do it.

It is the gambler's curse. Win or lose this time, it will lead to disaster in the long-term. Bigger stakes on a winning streak are a sure way of guaranteeing that the bookies get back every single cent you won off them - and a lot quicker than even they anticipated. DON'T DO IT!! As simple as it may sound ? You just can?t do it.

The safest way to get as much thrill and enjoyment out of the gambling experience is to work out how much money you can afford to lose before you start. Betting big when you are losing is a sure-fire way to lose your rent, food money for the week or maybe months or years. DON'T DO IT!! As simple as it may sound ? You just can?t do it.

Remember - before you place a bet - imagine how you'll feel if when the bet loses. If the thought of losing it makes you feel sick or feel like jumping off a 35 storey high building ... then don?t ever break this GOLDEN RULE NO.1

Writer is a full time soccer analyst and has been around the betting scene for more than 12 years.
