Soccer is fun, for children and adults. It is easy and so much fun to play that you really have something great to look forward to, even those that do not know how to play soccer. You will learn in no time.

Play for fun, with your friends or on a team. The most important is that you focus on how fun it is to play.

You can play one on one, with a friend and all the way up to 11 against 11, with a judge and two lines men or woman.

If you refer to how the game officially is played, on a soccer pitch, then 22 players, 11 on each team is the basic rule.

The pitch is like 64 meters wide and about 110 meters long. On each end of the 110 meters, there is a goal where the main purpose of the game is to kick the ball inside the net of the opposite teams goal.

Each team has a goal keeper that is aloud to use his or her hands to save the ball.

The goal keeper has an area of 16 meters from the goal where he can keep the ball in his hands. However he has to kick or throw the ball away, preferably to a player on his team, before he has kept the ball in his hands for 7 seconds.

A standard line up is 4-4-2. That means that a team has a lineup of 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and two attackers.

When your team has the ball in their possession it is a team effort to try to pass the ball, dribble and shoot the ball in the back of the net of the other teams goal.

The same team effort is put forth to try to stop and win the ball back when the opposition has the ball and trying to put the ball in the back of the net behind your own goal keeper.

If you would like to know how to play soccer just for fun, it can be done everywhere, just make two goals of stones or two t-skirts or what ever. Divide the player into two team and start playing.

Remember, one of the ground rules, is that it is only the goal keeper that are aloud to use his hands.

You can even play by yourself, by training your self to be a better dribbler or to pas the ball, or to juggle the ball for better control.

All in all, how to play soccer is a very broad question but playing soccer can be done by everyone everywhere.

Did you now that soccer is one of the largest sports in the world?

Youth Soccer Drills

There are several things that the coaches need to keep in mind while giving lessons to the players during youth soccer drills:

Receiving The Ball

When it comes to youth soccer drills, there are several key teaching points in receiving the ball. These key points are as follows.

  • The coach must teach the players about how to get in the line of flight of the ball.

  • The players should learn to present the body part to the ball the right and the impressive way.

  • One of the most important things for the coaches is to teach the players that they must have their eyes on the ball at the moment of contact.

  • The coach should teach the players that they should Cushion the body part while receiving the ball, just as if they are as in catching an egg.
  • How To Strike A Ball

It is very sad to see that many coaches do not teach the players the correct way to strike a ball. The right way of striking the ball is something that can make the ball to go straight in the air with velocity.

It is the duty of the coaches to teach the players about this technique in a correct way. One of the best methods that the coaches can use to show this technique to the players is to show them NFL place kickers or MLS goalkeepers taking a goal kick.

However, these techniques can be listed as follows.

  • The players must keep in mind that the ball should be out of their feet. The obvious reason is that they will not be able to kick the ball over distance if it is underneath them.

  • The player?s approach must be slightly from the side.

  • A long hop or driving step is the final step, which places the support foot alongside the ball. The coaches should teach the players that their support foot must point towards the target. What is more, head must be steady, and eyes must be on the ball. Further, the player?s left hand should point at the target.
  • Coaching youth soccer drills is an important task and it must be taught the correct way.

FIFA WORLD CUP GERMANY 2006... Catch your soccer fever in investing now!

Place your bet not on the ball but outside the field...

Soccer or football is the world's most popular ball game. The 2006 FIFA World Cup is just than less than 2 months away. The World Cup is the world's most popular soccer tournament where the best 32 teams around the world will play each other to win the soccer's most prestige prize, the World Cup!

Traditionally, during major tournaments and games, the main focus is on the tournament itself and World Cup is one of these games. Most people are either concern on which teams have won, lost or draw and the score between the teams. During the World Cup, soccer gambling and betting enjoyed huge followings in globally. Most people will place bets on the game and teams that played. There are also other effects it has on the world. Soccer fans and enthusiasts who are in different time zone will stay overnight to catch a game and some even neglected their jobs. World Cup is also a period where increase in gambling activities and decrease in productivity in most countries.

But the pros far outweigh the cons. Hosting countries will enjoy the prestige of holding the event and also enjoy increased in revenue from hosting the event. The hosting country of World Cup will always enjoyed a short period of economic growth due to increase in number of tourist visiting the country and the revenue from tourism. From statistics, for the period within 3 before and after the event, the hosting country will enjoy a short-term economic growth and has a positive impact on the equity markets. The market condition will be good and hence conducive for investment. The equity markets and consumer staples will outperform the broad markets and the normal period.

Germany's 2005 GDP is US$2.452 trillion up from US$2.362 trillion in 2004. It's average GDP growth is 0.5% in a period of 5 years. On 2 occasions that Germany hosted the World Cup and European Championship in 1974 and 1988, domestic stocks outperform the broad markets in the same periods from April to August. Thus, Germany will be a good place to invest as most of the stocks will perform well from now till August.

Companies who sponsor or directly linked to the event will also enjoy a short-term growth during this time. There are 15 Official Partners of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. They are Adidas, Anheuser-Busch, Avaya, Coca-Cola, Continental, Deutsche Telekom, Emirates, Fujifilm, Gillette, Hyundai, MasterCard, McDonald's, Philips, Toshiba and Yahoo!. All these partners not only gained in publicity from sponsoring the events but also enjoy a short period of growth in their stocks. Expect the stocks of these companies to outperform the broad market in these few month periods.

So, it is good to place your bet on the stocks of these companies as they might increase in value during these period. Adidas, Coca-Cola and Fujifilm will be my top 3 picks of stock to outperforms the market in these periods.

    Here is my reasoning:

Adidas is the world's 2nd famous sports brand after Nike. More media coverage means more sales for Adidas. The sporting goods sales should rise as the matchs progress. Adidas has enjoy a period of steady growth in its net income from EUR $208 in 2001 to EUR $383. With all the fundamentals in place, Adidas will not doubt perform well in these periods.

Coca-Cola is always present at most major sporting events and World Cup is one of them. More media coverage, means more sales of its soft drink. Furthermore, Coca-Cola always outperforms consistently during major sport evening such as World Cup. The operating income for 2005 is US$6085 Million up from US$5689 Million in 2004. Currently, Coca-Cola is value at above US$40 per lot. It is expected that the stock will enjoy substantial rise in value during these periods.

Fujifilm is in imaging business. It is undergo restructuring in business structure since last year. Though is photo film and related products have declined, its digital solution is quickly gaining popularity. As soccer has huge following around the world, the World Cup with its worldwide media attention is beneficial for digital imaging technology. The reported operating income for FY2006 is 70.6 Billion Yen and it is expected to increase to 80 Billion Yen in FY2007. I foresee the stock will have some gain in value.

But, in soccer there's this saying. "The ball is round. Anything can happen!" Please exercise your investment with caution.

    Psychology and Soccer

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

It has long been recognized that physical components are not enough to make athletes excel in their fields. One of the latest concepts being applied to enhance the performances in sports is called cognitive psychology ? the study of brain mechanisms or human mental processes in relation to the way we perceive things, feel about things, solve problems, and the probable root cause of our behavior.

This paper will contain a detailed ten hour soccer team training plan and discuss the relationship of cognitive psychology to athletes? over-all performance focusing mainly on the information processing model of Whiting, Welford, and Schmidt. The contribution of cognitive psychology to enhancing the players? understanding and performance levels, the application of different theoretical approaches to a variety of sporting situations and the use of theory to enhance individual and team performance, specifically in soccer, will be explored.

There exists an array of sub-concepts under cognitive psychology which includes information processing. This elucidates the process in which our brain takes in information from the outside world through our senses, select and utilize the information which results to a decision, bringing about an output exhibited through behavior or actions, which is subjected to feedback from the environment.

The decision to pass the ball or to run for the goal is determined by the availability of a player in a more advantageous spot and the number of players guarding him (input). The success or failure of his moves (output) based on his decision is affirmed with a touchdown or a pass respectively (feedback). Now, the decision-making process involved during this split-second scenario is a product of simulated plays in which the player was trained and not born with. Through constant exposure to similar situation in the course of training, the learned skill has become intrinsic to a player?s mind which he was able to apply naturally in the actual game despite the pressured atmosphere...

Junior Soccer Defending - Directing the Play

Click Here To Know How To Play The Best Soccer of Your Life

    http://www.juniorsoccercoach.com

Do your players know whether to show an opponent inside or outside when they are defending?

You may want to consider this tactic when coaching your players. There are two schools of thought on this; One says that your defenders should show the opponents outside towards the touchline.

The reason for this is that if your player does get beat then the opponent will still have to get a cross in. Also, they should be at a more acute angle to get a shot on target if they have been successfully pushed outside.

The alternative to this is showing the opponents inside, towards goal. If this is to be your style of play then the players need to be organised so that there is strength inside. This can be a risky tactic if players are not switched on or don't know where to best position themselves.

Showing them inside would be a good tactic if you where playing with five in defence with a good sweeper.

If your team lacks some direction on this tactic, then it will be very difficult for them to get an organised shape and take a position which is best suited to holding up or breaking down an attack.

Both young and older players can be coached on this.

As players get older, and become more tactically aware & proficient in defending techniques, they will be able to influence the build up play and therefore your defensive line can react, and adjust, by taking the lead off the first defender.

Build this simple tactic into some small sided games in training and watch the beneficial results on match day!
